Create a product or service

  1. 1

    Choose the item category.

Open Inventory and select Products, Services, or Other Income. Tap the add button to open Create Product.

  2. 2

Set the type and stock tracking.

Choose Product for goods, Service for work you provide, or Other for another income item. Turn on Track Inventory only for items whose physical quantity you want to track.

  3. 3

Enter a code and a clear name.

Use Product Code for your own identifier and Product Name for the label you will recognize during invoicing. For example: AF-01 and Air Filter.

  4. 4

    Enter prices.

Selling Price is the default amount charged to customers. Purchase Price is your item cost. Enter numbers in your business currency.

  5. 5

    Set opening stock.

For tracked inventory, enter the units already on hand. Count the stock before saving; this is the starting quantity.

  6. 6

    Save and verify.

Tap Save, return to the list, and open the item. Check its name, category, selling price, and stock.

Check how stock changed

  1. 1

    Find the item.

Select the relevant category and use Search to narrow the inventory list.

  2. 2

    Open Product Details.

Review In Stock, then scroll to Stock Movements.

  3. 3

Compare stock in and stock out.

A supplier bill linked to the product increases stock. Posting a sales invoice containing a tracked product records stock out. Compare the dates and quantities with the source documents.

Example: an opening quantity and a restock

Suppose you start with 10 air filters. Create the tracked product with Opening Stock 10. A later purchase of 5 filters belongs on a supplier bill linked to that product. The stock should become 15. Posting a sale of 2 filters should leave 13.

The example illustrates quantity changes only. Compare your own item details and source records after each operation. Use the barcode-scanning guide to capture a Product Code or add a matching product during invoicing.
