Scan product barcodes
Capture product codes and add matching items to an invoice using the camera.
Prepare to scan
Use a device with a supported camera and allow Yesri camera access. Have the barcode or QR code in clear view. Pro provides unlimited scanning; free users use scan credits shown in the credits wallet.
A scan reads the printed value. It does not automatically look up a product catalogue, selling price, or supplier information from the internet.
Save a barcode as the Product Code
- 1
Open Create Product.
Go to Inventory and start creating the item.
- 2
Tap Scan Barcode beside Product Code.
Complete the credit prompt if shown, then allow the camera to open.
- 3
Point at the code.
Place the barcode or QR code inside the guide. Use Toggle Flash for poor lighting or Switch Camera if another camera works better.
- 4
Review the captured value.
The scanner returns to the form and fills Product Code. Check it, then enter the item’s name, prices, type, and stock before saving.
Add an item to an invoice by scanning
- 1
Open Create Invoice.
Choose the customer or Walk-in and prepare the payment details.
- 2
Tap Scan Barcode.
Use the scan action beside the line-item selector and point the camera at the product code.
- 3
Check the matching line.
Yesri looks for a saved product whose code or name matches the scanned value. A match adds that product with its saved selling price. If already on the invoice, its quantity increases by one.
- 4
Review the final quantity.
Check quantity and price after every scan. Continue adding items, then review the whole invoice before Save Invoice.
When a code does not work
If no product is found, compare the scanned value with the saved Product Code in the same business. Create the item or correct the code before scanning it onto a sale.
If the camera cannot read it, improve lighting, flatten the label, clean the lens, and adjust distance. You can enter the Product Code manually or use the invoice item picker. A free scan credit may be used when the scanner is opened, so avoid repeated unsuccessful attempts without checking the cause.
