Back up, restore & move devices
Create a .yesri database backup and restore it without confusing replacement with sync.
Unlock backup access
Open Settings → Data Backup & Restore. Pro gives access without ads. In the current mobile version, free users can also complete the three rewarded videos shown on this screen to unlock backup and restore.
If using the video option, complete each video and check the remaining count. If an ad cannot load or complete, check connectivity and try again later. The screen must show the backup actions unlocked before you continue.
Create a backup
- 1
Finish your entries.
Save the current invoice, bill, or expense so it is included in the database.
- 2
Choose Create Backup.
Open the backup screen and tap Create Backup.
- 3
Save the .yesri file.
Choose a folder in the save dialog. Keep the file extension intact and use a location you can find again.
- 4
Verify the saved file.
Check the Backup saved message and confirm the file exists in your file manager.
- 5
Keep another copy.
Copy the file to a storage location outside the device, such as a drive or a cloud folder you control. Note the backup date.
Restore a backup
- 1
Choose the right file.
Locate the intended .yesri backup and check its date. Keep the original file unchanged.
- 2
Open Restore from Backup.
Go to Settings → Data Backup & Restore and select the restore action.
- 3
Read Restore Backup?
The dialog explains that all current business data will be replaced. Choose Cancel if you are not ready.
- 4
Confirm Restore Data and select the file.
Use the file picker to select the .yesri backup. Let the restore finish.
- 5
Reopen and verify.
After the app closes, reopen it. Check the business profile, recent invoices, stock, and bank records against the backup you intended to restore.
Move to a new device
- 1
Back up on the old device.
Create a fresh file after your last saved work and copy it to a location accessible from the new device.
- 2
Install Yesri on the new device.
Use the official Google Play link. On initial setup, use the restore-from-backup option rather than starting duplicate business records.
- 3
Restore and verify.
Read the replacement warning, select the file, and reopen the app. Check each business and recent transactions before continuing work.
- 4
Review device preferences.
Check PIN, theme, invoice template, logo availability, and Pro purchase status separately. The database backup should not be assumed to include every device preference or externally stored image.
If backup or restore fails
Check available storage and access to the selected folder. Choose an actual .yesri file created by Yesri; renaming a PDF or another file does not turn it into a backup. If the picker is cancelled, no restore is completed.
If a file is rejected, keep it unchanged and contact support with the error text and the app version that created it. Do not erase the working device while a migration is unverified. Backups are independent copies; cloud push/pull sync is a different feature.
Use Cloud Server Backup & Sync
- 1
Connect the correct business first.
Use Settings → Cloud Sync & Multi-Device and verify your business login. In Data Backup & Restore, the cloud cards appear with unlocked backup access. A rewarded backup unlock alone does not establish a cloud account.
- 2
Choose Sync & Backup to Cloud Now.
Under Backup to Cloud Server, start the action and wait for the result. It sends local records and applies returned cloud updates. Check the result and Last Cloud Sync before relying on another device.
- 3
Review Full Restore from Cloud carefully.
Under Restore from Cloud Server, choose Full Restore from Cloud. Read Restore from Cloud?, then Cancel or Restore Now. The action runs a full push/pull sync: it can upload local records as well as apply server records.
- 4
Verify the result.
Check the business name, recent invoices, balances, and stock. Keep a separate .yesri file before using either cloud action, especially before replacing a device or switching accounts.
